1704 RERUM THURINGICARUM SYNTAGMA, ALLERHAND DENCKWÜRDIGE THÜRINGISCHE HISTORIEN |
| Published in Frankfurt and Leipzig in 1704 this is the first edition with original frontis [5], [392 pp], original binding with probably newer end papers. Book i sturdy, corners are bumped, chips at the lower spine (se pictures od the covers all around). Internally, beautiful black and red title with many woodcuts. This is the complete first volume. There is a second volume which aparently was bound together and published in 1707 but this volue is only volume 1. In good conditions, foxing throught the pages but in very good readable conditions. Very few marks made by previous owner(s). A nice collectible as a first edition of history of Thuringia or what is called, the Free State of Thuringian situated in the central part of Germany. |

1929 LOS ANGELES BLUE BOOK-A SOCIETY DIRECTORY- WITH ORIGINAL BLUE SUEDE COLOR |
| A rare copy of the Los Angeles Blue Book for the elite Society in Los Angeles, Pasadena, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice published by Raymond J. Wolfsohn. Contains names, addresses, summer/vacation residence, club affiliations and tons of ads. One the most known names is Douglas Fairbanks which I found easily but after a while I lost my patience and I stopped checking for names. Names of clubs were Los Angeles, Athletic Club, Jonathan Club, Los Angeles and Bel-Air Country Clubs and many more. Includes a list of 1929 marriages and every page is an interesting description of the elite groups in 1929. Blue suede covers with vibrant gilded letters on the front cover, silk end papers, spine is faded, back cover is faded but still can see the blue color. Couple of pages are loose and have some chips on the edges but given the age, I would say that this is normal. Still a VG copy! |
